Super nurse Stephanie raises £2,200 for NHS...by running London Marathon on a treadmill

A nurse at Northampton General Hospital who had to scrap plans to run the London Marathon successfully completed the distance on a treadmill on Sunday.

And Stephanie Shea, a senior nurse practitioner in A&E, raised an incredible £2,210 in support of the NHS coronavirus fund.

Tweeting a picture after successfully completing the challenge, Stephanie, 33, said: "Super Marathon Sunday! 26.2 Miles on my Treadmill done! The lovely messages, videos of support and generous donations got me through every tough mile! Thank you to everyone who supported my crazy idea and help me raise an astonishing £2,210 for @NGHEDteam and @NHCFGreenHeart."

She was thanked by the Northamptonshire Health Charitable Fund.

"A huge thank you to @ANPShea for running the 26.2 mile marathon on her treadmill yesterday & raising an incredible £2,355 for @NGHEDteam @NGHnhstrust #charity #marathon #fundraising #Covid_19 #coronavirusuk #northampton," they said on social media.

Stephanie said the public had been very supportive throughout her fundraising.

The longest run she had done on the treadmill was a half marathon which took her two and a half hours.
