Students launch fundraising campaign for Northampton hospice in loving memory of teacher
A fundraising campaign in memory of a teacher at a school near Northampton has been launched by two students.
Millie and Charlotte are raising money for Cynthia Spencer Hospice in memory of Joanna Stone, who was head of music at Quinton House School and sadly passed away last year.
The friends are organising events such as a 1970s fancy dress, fun runs, stage performances and prep parties. They have also set up a JustGiving page.
“We wish to raise money for Cynthia Spencer in loving memory of a teacher who meant so much to us. Miss Stone played a huge role within our school lives and we wish to continue making her proud,” they said.

Miss Stone was clearly an inspiration to both of them.
Millie said: “She helped me through so much. She was a mother figure for me and the person I turned to whenever things got tough. I never imagined I would be speaking about Miss Stone in the past tense, but here I am, doing everything I can to continue making her proud.
"She gave me a confidence I never thought I would have, and I will be forever grateful for that. I miss her more than words can say, and school will never be the same without her. I am incredibly sad to have to finish my school life without her by my side, but she will forever be in my heart,” Millie added.
Charlotte said she first met Miss Stone when she was about six years old.
"She made music and theatre turn from a hobby to something that brings me confidence and allows me to express myself. Miss Stone was such a large part of my school life for nearly 10 years so to have to carry on without her has been incredibly hard.
"I wish to raise money for Cynthia Spencer in honour of Miss Joanna Stone because it’s a charity that meant so much to her and supported her in times when we couldn’t. If you can, we would be incredibly grateful for all donations in honour of our truly wonderful teacher,” she added.
