But a planning application put to the council suggests developers are eyeing up the two-storey building to become a block of 25 apartments.

The application by APC Planning submitted last week details how it would renovate the offices into 19 one-bed and six two-bed flats, with an option for up to 56 parking spaces.

The plan is listed as a "prior notification", meaning the developer is asking whether their planning application would be suitable before they formally apply to start work.

A public consultation on the scheme is open until October 1, but there are no neighbours near the building to consult with. Instead, Briar Hill's ward councillors have been invited to comment.
