A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager was stabbed in Northampton on Tuesday July 7.
Northamptonshire Police officers were called to a house in Adnitt Road just before 7pm after reports that a teenage boy had been stabbed.
Despite the best efforts of members of the public, police and paramedics, the teenager, whose age has not been revealed by the authorities, sadly died at the scene, police said.
According to police, two people were seen acting suspiciously in Dallington Park, which also led to an emergency services response and cordon in the area.
Both Adnitt Road and Dallington Park remain cordoned off and are expected to stay that way as the investigation continues.
The Chronicle & Echo visited both scenes between 11pm and midnight on Tuesday before returning on Wednesday morning at around 10am, as the murder investigation continued.
Our pictures show Adnitt Road still cordoned off from Stimpson Avenue to Whitworth Road and Bostock Avenue, with forensic officers carrying out investigations at a house near the junction with Bostock Avenue where the teenage boy was fatally stabbed.
A large section of Dallington Park also remains taped near the Dallington Park Road side of the area, after police said two people were seen acting suspiciously there shortly after the incident.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Ryan Catling from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team, said: “This is a fast-moving investigation with several scenes in place as we work to establish what has happened.
“As we do this work, I’m appealing for anyone who may have been in Adnitt Road and the surrounding area from 6pm last night and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to contact us.
“We also want to speak to anyone who may have seen two people acting suspiciously in Dallington Park from 7pm onwards.”
In addition to house-to-house enquiries, an increased police presence will also remain in the area, including high-visibility patrols to offer reassurance and support the community. Anyone who has any concerns is encouraged to speak to an officer.
Members of the public are also urged to avoid both of the cordoned areas, where possible.
DCI Catling added: “We know this incident will cause a lot of concern for the local community and I want to offer reassurance that we are doing all we can to establish what has happened and identify those responsible.
“Our neighbourhood policing team will be conducting patrols throughout the day, and I would encourage anyone with concerns to approach one of our officers who will be happy to help.
“As part of our investigation we want to hear from anyone in Adnitt Road or the surrounding streets who may have captured any footage on CCTV or doorbells, or indeed if anyone driving in the area captured anything on a dash-cam.
