Sports car formerly owned by Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham set to go to auction in Northamptonshire
A sports car formerly owned by Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham is set to go to auction in Northamptonshire.
Iconic Auctioneers will offer a 1972 Jensen Interceptor III with an estimate of £40,000 to £50,000.
First registered in March 1972 to John Bonham Enterprises Ltd, the right-hand drive model is powered by the 6.3-litre 383ci Chrysler V8 engine.
Iconic Auctioneers says the car was acquired by the current owner in "barn find condition" and required a comprehensive rebuild.

They said: "A three-year restoration and improvement programme followed between 2020 and 2023, supported by invoices totalling more than £83,000."
Harry Whale, Car Specialist at Iconic Auctioneers, said: "This is a wonderful example of why provenance matters so much in the classic car market. The Interceptor is already a hugely characterful British GT, but John Bonham’s ownership gives this car an added cultural significance.
"With its extensive recent restoration, strong presentation and realistic estimate, it is a very tempting proposition for both marque enthusiasts and collectors of music-related motor cars."
The Iconic Sale at the BRDC Classic takes place at the Silverstone Circuit on July 25.

John Bonham, widely regarded as one of the greatest drummers in rock history, was a founding member of Led Zeppelin.
He died on September 25, 1980, aged 32, after consuming a large amount of alcohol, with an inquest recording death by misadventure.
