Sold-out charity concert raises £1,500 for Northampton’s Cynthia Spencer Hospice

A Northamptonshire family has raised £1,500 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice after organising a sold-out charity concert in memory of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

Andey Fellowes explained: “The event was our grandfather's idea, who wanted to give something back to the hospice following the care they provided for our nan before she passed away last year.

“Three generations of our family performed together at the concert, which sold out in advance and welcomed around 100 people. Thanks to the support of the local community, the event raised £1,500 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice at the Riverview Diner in Cogenhoe,” he added.

Trevor Brown, who gives his name to the band, Trevor Brown and the Time Travellers, worked as a gigging musician for more than 30 years and has come out of retirement to play with his family.

He said: “It was so good to see so many people out to support such a great cause. I'm really proud of my family. What a great first gig to come out of retirement for. I can't wait to get back out there and play more.”

The band is currently booking local venues, weddings and events to bring their classic ’50s, ’60s and ’70s covers to more audiences across Northamptonshire. Andey added: “The response to the charity evening was overwhelming, and we're now planning another charity concert this October to continue supporting the hospice and bringing the community together through live music.”
