Plans submitted for 305 new homes as major Northampton developments move forward

Plans for hundreds of new homes in Northampton, a major expansion of a building as a community venue, and significant alterations to properties across the district have been submitted to West Northamptonshire Council.

Among the latest applications published by the authority is a reserved matters application for 305 homes at Dallington Grange, off Mill Lane in Kingsthorpe.

The major application relates to part of Phase 3B of the wider Dallington Grange development and seeks approval for details linked to outline planning permission first granted under application N/2014/1429.

Another major proposal has been submitted for land at 74 Kingsthorpe Road, Northampton. The outline application seeks permission for a mixed-use development comprising up to 59 residential units. All matters are reserved except for access and scale.

Elsewhere in Northampton, plans have been lodged for the Newton Building on St George's Avenue to broaden its permitted uses to allow the building to host a range of community and cultural activities, including public exhibitions, community meetings, live music performances, concerts, weddings and other functions.

Outside Northampton, a number of applications have also been submitted across West Northamptonshire.

In Boughton, listed building consent has been sought for works to 8 Butchers Lane, including the replacement and repair of roof and porch thatch using like-for-like materials.

A separate application at Ulverscroft, Vyse Road, Boughton, seeks permission for the demolition of an existing north wing and its replacement with a new two-and-a-half-storey structure. The plans also include extensions, dormer windows, a glazed atrium entrance, a detached garage and a repositioned site access as part of a revised scheme.

Meanwhile, in Blakesley, an application has been submitted for the demolition of an existing garden outbuilding at 4 Church Street and the construction of a replacement building.

The applications were published by West Northamptonshire Council on May 28, 2026. Residents wishing to comment on the proposals can do so online via the council's planning portal or by writing to the authority's planning department within 21 days of the notice's publication.

The public notice was published in the Chronicle & Echo and the Public Notice Portal.
