9. The Courtyard Cafe – September 2023
The Courtyard Cafe, in Kent Road, formerly existed as part of St Crispin Retail Village as the Tick Tock Cafe Bar. The cafe underwent a rebrand to become a homely and cosy corner of the community and closed for a four-day makeover at the end of July. The whole building was redecorated, four months on from when partners Sarah Smith and Josh Wilks first took over the venue at the end of March. Photo: The Courtyard Cafe

10. The Plough at Shutlanger – October 2023
The tearooms at The Plough at Shutlanger underwent a refurbishment, following the high demand for an expansion from customers. The venue, located in Main Road, Towcester, began as a gastropub before owners Jim and Jessie Kay moved away from the label as they believed they offered much more than a pub. The tearooms were closed on September 5, in the hope of instilling a community vibe and making the space more accessible to all. Photo: The Plough at Shutlanger

11. The Bold Dragoon – November 2023
The Bold Dragoon, a public house and fresh food restaurant in High Street, Weston Favell, reopened on November 17 after it underwent a refurbishment by three new owners. After around nine weeks closed to bring their vision to life, the grand reveal felt like a long time coming for Mark Parry, Ian Bishop and Russell Johnson. It was in April that the trio of locals first took over and the pub now boasts a fresh look. Photo: Kirsty Edmonds

12. The Collingtree – November 2023
The Collingtree, in Butts Road, East Hunsbury, welcomed pub-goers back in November following an extensive two-week refurbishment and the introduction of a new look. A refreshed bar, new soft furnishings and an enhanced dining area gave the pub a new lease of life, with the hope that the bright and modern look would create a welcoming environment for guests to enjoy.
