Northampton has more than its share of landmarks in its town centre.
But over the past decade, some of its best-known spots have been pulled to the ground.

2. Debenham's
The former Debenhams building in Northampton town centre was flattened in October 2022 to make way for hundreds of student flats. The former high street giant department store in the Drapery was brought to rubble and dust after standing for more than 140 years in the town Photo: NA
3. Northampton's former power station
Demolition of the derelict power station façade at the site of the University of Northampton’s Waterside Campus was carried out in July 2016. The power station was built following the First World War and gradually grew in size, providing all of the town’s electricity until it was shut down in 1975 Photo: NA
4. Tanner Street
