A man in his 30s has died following a crash on the M1 near Northampton last week.

The man was the passenger of a Ford Ka which overturned on the southbound sliproad at Junction 15A early on Friday morning (April 24).

Northamptonshire's Serious Collision Unit is still investigating how the vehicle came to end up on its roof.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "The incident happened at about 6.45am on Friday. A green, 59-plate Ford Ka travelling on the southbound carriageway of the M1, for reasons not yet known, ended up on its roof.

"Sadly, the passenger – a man in his 30s – has since died.

"Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the Ford Ka either travelling on the southbound carriageway of the M1 prior to the incident or who may have witnessed the incident.

"If anyone has information or may have dashcam footage of the incident, please call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615 or Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 58 of 24/04/20."
