Padel Power applies for alcohol licence as Northampton centre nears April 3 opening
Padel Power has applied for a premises licence for its new Northampton sports centre as work continues to convert a long-empty warehouse in Kingsfield Business Park.
The application, submitted in the name of Samantha Noble for Padel Power, covers Unit 1, Kingsfield Business Park, Gladstone Road, NN5 7PP.
If approved, the site would be licensed to sell alcohol on the premises between 11am and 11pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 10pm on Sundays, and would show live sporting events on television.
Representations on the licence must be made in writing to the Licensing Team at West Northants Council by March 31, 2026; the full application can be inspected by contacting the council.

The licence bid comes as Padel Power pushes ahead with plans to open the 2.4-acre facility on April 3. Approved in February, the development will transform the former packaging unit into an indoor padel tennis centre with nine courts, a dedicated pickleball court, table-tennis zone, warm-up area, reception and café-lounge, plus viewing and changing facilities. The site already includes parking for around 90–100 vehicles.
Padel Power says the centre - billed as “Northampton’s Home of Padel” - will cater for casual players, coached groups, schools, university students and competitive athletes, and is developing partnerships with Northampton School for Boys and the University of Northampton. At launch the business expects to employ three full-time and five part-time staff, rising to the equivalent of about 12 full-time roles as membership grows.
Anyone with questions about the licence application can contact West Northants Council’s Licensing Team or submit written representations before the March 31 deadline.
