Northamptonshire school teachers let pupils know they are not alone in heartwarming video
Headteacher, Mark Currell, has been the creative force behind a compilation music video where Roade Primary School teachers and staff each sing a line of Lou Reed's Perfect Day.
The song was chosen to let pupils and their families in isolation know that the school community are there for them, and even though they can't see each other they are are "still together-alone".

"The staff at Roade Primary School are incredible. A wonderful, creative and often silly bunch that need no encouragement to do something a little bit different and special for our children."
Lou Reed's song, Perfect Day, was re-released in 1997 as a Children In Need hit single and each line was sung by pop legends, including David Bowie, Heather Small and Tom Jones.
He added: "It’s a classic song and it has the right sentiment. It would be a Perfect Day if would could spend it with our children.

The video, which was released on YouTube last week, has already had over 1,100 views and hundreds of comments on the Friends of Roade Primary School Facebook page.
"We thought we’d do something lovely for our children to show them that we are still there for them-we never expected this reaction," he added.
"In fact it has given us impetus to do more. We are now half way though our next video montage - this time involving more families and children. There will be some epic editing, but it’s going to be very funny-the children will love it."

"Once the seed was sown with the staff and their families it quickly gathered momentum," Mark added. "The staff then went and recorded each of their little pieces-the wackier the better and emailed them to me.
"As a school we do go above and beyond and we do have a knack for doing silly songs and dance routines. Whenever a member of staff leaves there is usually a performance for them from the rest of the staff-this though is a first move to recording our work.
"We had to think of a way that we could all contribute to the piece, but remain separate in our homes with our families."

So far, 70 clips have so far been sent in by the children to edit in the coming days.
