Northamptonshire residents urged to nominate community heroes for future King’s Honours
Residents are being urged to nominate people making a difference in their communities for future King’s Honours.
HM Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, James Saunders-Watson, made the call after 17 people with links to the county were recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours.

The honours system recognises people who have made achievements in public life or committed themselves to serving and helping their communities. Awards are announced twice a year, in the King’s Birthday Honours and the New Year Honours.
Mr Saunders-Watson congratulated those recognised this year and said the awards reflected “the very best of our county”.
He added that not everyone realised anyone could make a nomination, and encouraged residents to put forward people making an outstanding contribution to Northamptonshire.
This year’s county recipients included Professor Sheila Bird, who was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to public health.
