Northamptonshire charity welcomes two new faces to its board who have a "wealth of experience"

The charity, which last year awarded over £2million in funding across Northamptonshire, said it is delighted to announce that Rachel Mallows MBE and Liam Condron to the organisation.

Victoria Miles, CEO of the Foundation, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rachel Mallows and Liam Condron to Northamptonshire Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees. They bring with them vast experience and expertise both in the voluntary and community sector and corporate business.

"I am looking forward to them working with us to ensure the foundation increases its reach and continues to support our communities both now, and in the future.”

Rachel is a Northamptonshire businesswoman with over 30 years’ experience in delivering training, coaching, mentoring and business support as the founder and managing director the Mallows Company Limited.

The organisation, based in Wellingborough, supports SMEs, charities, public sector organisations and larger businesses to flourish, as well as helping out-of-work adults to upskill and find new work. Rachel also leads a team of careers advisers, working with schools to provide careers advice and works closely with the Career

Development Institute, leading on their mentoring programme. Rachel is also the Director of the Weetabix Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards and Made In Northamptonshire, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Rachel said: “I’m delighted to be joining Northamptonshire Community Foundation as a Trustee. I have seen first-hand some of the fantastic work the foundation supports around the county, particularly to those in need during the pandemic over the past twelve months.

"It is an honour to be learning more about the work of the amazing charities and their dedicated teams across Northamptonshire who provide exemplary services to such a wide range of people.”

Liam Condron is the former CEO of Age UK Northamptonshire, a role he thrived in for over 25 years.

Liam established a wide range of prevention, admission avoidance and care services across Northamptonshire, including hospital-based services, advice and advocacy, integrated care and end of life initiatives.

Most recently, Liam has been a consultant for Age UK, focusing on the development of partnership work across the national Age UK network, as well as taking on several leadership roles across the local voluntary sector.

Liam said: “Never in my lifetime have the challenges faced by our community, or the organisations that serve it, been greater. It is a genuine honour to join the Trustees of Northamptonshire Community Foundation as they endeavour to help organisations to find opportunities amidst those challenges.

"It is a privilege to be a part of an enterprise that brings so much hope to our community at a time when this is most needed.”

Northamptonshire Community Foundation is the leading, independent grant making charity in Northamptonshire, providing often life changing grants to some of the county’s most vulnerable people.
