Animals In Need based at Pine Tree Farm in Little Irchester, near Wellingborough, is appealing for help in rehoming the large number of cats and kittens in its care.
Despite it often being an issue for rescue centres at this time of year, it makes it no easier in finding new owners for these friendly felines.
A spokesman for Animals In Need said: “Every summer all rescue centres are completely overwhelmed with hundreds of cats and kittens needing homes - unfortunately it looks like the situation is going to be no different this year.
"If you - or anyone you know - is looking at welcoming feline companions into your home, please consider adopting.
"All of our cats are neutered, vaccinated and ID chipped prior to rehoming - please take a look at our website for details of cats available and our criteria www.animals-in-need.org.”
If you see any cats that you are interested in rehoming, send an email to [email protected] and they will be in touch as all viewings are by appointment only.
The spokesman added: “Kittens will be added to the website as they become available for rehoming, at which time we will start to accept applications.
"We only rehome kittens in pairs and not to homes where there are children under the age of five years.
"Adult cats can be rehomed singly or to homes with younger children, depending on their individual requirements.
"All of these cats deserve the chance of finding a forever home, please do not overlook them because of their age or colour - each has a different personality and could be the perfect fit for your family.”
