Northampton's National Lift Tower lights up with laser show to commemorate VE Day 75

One last stunning tribute in Northampton as a sendoff to VE Day 75.

Northampton's National Lift Tower was lit up with lasers and effects tonight (May 8) to mark the last hours of VE Day 75.

Residents across Northampton joined the UK today to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.

And, as a final send-off, Northampton's National Lift Tower was lit up tonight with a late-night laser display to celebrate the occasion.

The tower was illuminated with a "VE Day" logo and a light show for the town to see, with the display starting at around 9pm.

It comes after the Lift Tower was lit up with a tribute to the NHS only two weeks ago.
