Northampton's King Billy Rock Bar has put out a rallying call for customers to support it this weekend - or it might not make it to next one.

A post on the Bridge Street pub's Facebook page posted today (October 2) reads: "Due to the Covid-19 10pm restrictions if we are not supported this weekend from 12noon until 10pm we will have to shut the doors permanently.

"This is not a decision we want to take but we at this point may have no choice.

"Please come down this weekend and support us."

Manager Andy Green - who has been at the pub for over 25 years - told the Chronicle & Echo the pub has been hit hard without its usual line-up of touring bands.

He said: "We're in the same situation as so many other grass music venues.

"Every year we have more than 300 bands play which we obviously can't have.

"We could never have imagined something like this, but every good weekend means we might make it to the next weekend.

"If you can, please come down and support us this weekend."
