Northampton's Homeless FC - a team made entirely of people with experience living on the streets - is looking for teams to take them on in a five-a-side football tournament next month.

Goals Soccer Centre on Mereway are hosting an open tournament on March 7 between 1pm and 4pm to raise money for Sports Relief.

The kick-around has been organised by the Northampton-based rough sleepers' support charity Project 16:15, who have helped put several together tournaments with Homeless FC since the team formed last year.

Charity co-ordinator Stan Robertson said: "Put together a team, whack up some sponsorship and get involved and have some fun.

"Northampton Homeless FC came from a couple of people in the street who wanted to play and have some dignity. Everyone involved has some experience sleeping on the street.

"They all said that if they were going to play in tournaments for charity then its got to raise money for charities other than ones that support homelessness."
