A teenager from Northampton has reached the final in a national competition to find young adults who have helped in their communities during the 2020 pandemic.

Elizabeth Bondoc, 18, from Kings Heath, was nominated for Urban Jungle's Heroes 2020 by her mum Amy, 36, who told how her daughter had looked after her through a difficult year.

Amy said: "I've hurt my back and she has been a massive help, doing my shopping, helping with housework and walking the dog.

"I'd be lost without her."

Jimmy Williams is CEO of Urban Jungle, the insurance company which is running the competition. He said: "We think young adults have had to endure a lot in 2020 and want to do our bit to say ‘thank you’.

"So we want to meet the people, hear the stories and give thanks and recognition to those who have helped us all through.

“Perhaps they went shopping for an ill neighbour, took up the slack at work when others couldn’t or have been on the front line. We want to hear your nomination.”

Nominate a hero for 2020 by January 7, 2021, and they could receive a £250 Amazon voucher and become Urban Jungle's 2020 Hero.
