CC Hair Salon, on the upper mall, has temporarily shut after staff came into contact with a positive coronavirus case.

Bosses at the Weston Favell Shopping Centre have said they are satisfied with how the CC's owner is handling the situation and the centre is still safe to visit.

Shoppers are encouraged to continue to wear their face coverings, keep a safe distance from one another and follow the one-way systems in place.

A spokeswoman for the centre said: “I can assure you that the centre is safe to visit.

"The salon is closing temporarily as a precautionary measure to protect their clients and staff after coming into contact with a positive case.

"Once they have completed a full deep clean and their staff have received a negative test result they can reopen.

"As a centre we are following the strictest protocols to keep our staff, tenants and the public safe, so we feel confident that this is an isolated situation.”
