Munashe Gwenzi, 29, of Mayfly Road, Pineham, appeared before Northampton Magistrates' Court on June 17 after previously pleading guilty to criminal damage, assaulting a police officer and failing to surrender to bail.

Gwenzi entered guilty pleas to all three offences on May 25. The case was adjourned on that date for a pre-sentence report to be prepared ahead of sentencing.

However, when the case returned to court on Wednesday June 17 for sentencing, magistrates were told the report had not been completed.

The defence asked for a further adjournment so a report could be prepared, including information about his mental health.

The case was adjourned until July 10 at 10am for sentencing. Gwenzi was granted unconditional bail.

Court records show Gwenzi has previous convictions. In April 2024, he admitted damaging a car in Dragonfly Way, Pineham, and was ordered to pay £100 compensation and fined £40.

At the same hearing, he also pleaded guilty to stealing JBL Bluetooth headphones worth £35 from B&M in Victoria Promenade on two consecutive days, April 23 and April 24, 2024. He was fined £80 for each theft, with £35 compensation ordered on one of the offences.

Gwenzi also admitted a public order offence committed on April 23, 2024, after using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence or provoke unlawful violence. He was fined £120.
