Northampton duo believe they make the ‘best team’ after joining forces on salon last year
A Northampton pair believe they make the “best team” and took the leap to join forces on a salon last year.
Ana Maria and Marian Zanogeanu met six years ago, share three children, and they collaborated on a hair, nail and barber salon together last November.
Anthony Barber & Beauty Salon, located in Hervey Street, offers hairdressing and nail treatments by Ana and barbering by Marian.
The couple want to continue growing together by learning new techniques and providing high quality services, which Ana says is appreciated by their community.

The pair have much experience in their fields, which began in Romania before they moved to the town.
Ana Maria has been a hairdresser and nail technician for more than a decade, with a break to look after her children before joining Marian at the salon last November.
Marian has been a barber for 15 years, with a decade in Northampton and five years back in Romania.
The barber first opened his Hervey Street salon in 2018 in partnership with someone different, and when that collaboration was no more Ana and Marian took the opportunity to join forces.

When asked why the end of last year was the right time for them to take this step, Ana said: “We’re the best team together and we wanted to do something for us.”
The duo are passionate about constantly improving themselves and the techniques they can offer to their customers, which is why they attend courses to better their abilities.
Marian is proud to still have customers visiting him since he established himself as a barber in the town around a decade ago.
“We’re a neighbourhood salon,” said Ana. “It was perfect for us as it’s near our house and we can balance our family with work. It was a good choice and we can be flexible.”
They continue to pride themselves on quality and respect, and they are confident they provide this as customers leave the salon with “happy faces and a fresh look”. Ana is particularly passionate about talking her customers through each step of the process.
“In the future, we want to look back and say we did it together,” Ana concluded.
