Northampton Borough Council's event space is 'good to go' to be used again when the second coronavirus lockdown ends tomorrow (Wednesday, December 2).

The local authority has received the We’re Good to Go accreditation from VisitBritain, recognising tourism and hospitality organisations that are clean and maintain social distancing.

“For example, if they hold a wedding in our Great Hall, we have ensured that all areas are deep cleaned afterwards.

“Obtaining the We’re Good to Go accreditation is one of the avenues we have pursued to continue providing that reassurance.”

The standard is especially important for the Guildhall, which has the facilities to host weddings with up to 15 guests in line with the current government guidance.

The Guildhall has a range of measures in place to ensure its premises are Covid secure, including ample hand sanitisers, Test and Trace QR codes, one-way systems and socially-distanced seating.

It also reiterates that the highest safety and hygiene standards are ensured when members of the public visit the council for other purposes – restrictions permitting.
