Five shortlisted women who have been nominated by others, will be invited to the council’s International Women’s Day celebrations on Saturday March 6.

Nominations are now open so the Women’s Forum is calling upon residents, businesses, schools and community groups to start nominating women in their lives who inspire them.

Councillor Anna King, Cabinet member for community engagement and safety, said: “We all know someone who has gone above and beyond in supporting their local communities during this challenging year and make great role models not just now but in the years to come.

“We are now calling on residents to nominate those who made a difference in their lives and communities. Let’s make the 2021 celebrations the best yet.”
