New youth strategy approved to support young people across West Northamptonshire
A new strategy aimed at improving opportunities and support for young people across West Northamptonshire has been approved by the council’s cabinet.
The Youth Strategy 2026–2030 sets out how West Northamptonshire Council and partner organisations will work together over the next four years to improve wellbeing, boost confidence and help young people develop skills for adulthood.
The plan focuses on early intervention, mental health support, access to activities and strengthening links between schools, youth services and community organisations, a spokesperson said.
Michael Stratton, cabinet member for children, families and education, said the strategy aims to ensure “every young person in West Northamptonshire has the chance to thrive”.

The strategy was developed following engagement with young people, families and partner organisations and will also aim to give young people a stronger voice in local decision-making.
The full strategy is available via West Northamptonshire Council.
