New 30mph speed limit proposed on stretch of road near Northamptonshire village
A new 30mph speed limit could be introduced on part of the B5385 near Long Buckby under proposals put forward by West Northamptonshire Council.
The authority has issued notice of a proposed traffic regulation order that would introduce the lower speed restriction on a section of the road southwest of the village.
Under the plans, the 30mph limit would apply on the B5385 starting at a point 445 metres southwest of its junction with Lodge Lane and extending for 64 metres in a north-easterly direction.
The proposed order has been made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and would prohibit motorists from travelling at speeds exceeding 30mph along the affected stretch of road.

Anyone wishing to support, object to or comment on the proposals must do so in writing by May 28, 2026, quoting reference P2146 in all correspondence.
The public notice was published in the print edition of the Northampton Chronicle & Echo and the Public Notice Portal.
