A Northampton mum-of-four has been left angry after the oven and fridge-freezer she ordered from Argos was not delivered.

Toni Snow, who lives in Briar Hill, ordered the two Bosch appliances online and was told they would be delivered between 7am and 9am yesterday (March 25).

According to Toni, when she rang Argos about not receiving the delivery, the company told her that they attempted the delivery at around 7.45am and also tried her back garden.

Toni said: “No-one even knocked on the house and we have a doorbell as well, no-one rang that.

“They said they came into my back garden too, but you can’t get into my back garden.

“I’m wondering if they took it to the flats that are quite near to my house, but I told them it’s not the flats.”

As all her children are currently off school, Toni is worried that it is going to be really hard to cook for them all.

She added: “I feel really down-hearted and I feel quite angry at Argos.

“I explained the situation to them on the phone and asked if they couldn’t bring it back, it must’ve still been on the lorry, but they were really unhelpful.

“They said they could re-deliver on Monday, but that’s not good enough.

“I have four children and they’re all off school at the moment because of what is going on.

“It’s going to be really difficult to cook a meal. My kids are all fussy as well, so it’s going to be hard to try and cook four or five different meals.

“I did go on BBC Radio Northampton yesterday and a very kind lady gave me a cooker and hob that I can work with.”

In response to the claims, the company says it did attempt delivery at the address and called the customer a number of times, which Toni disputes.

A spokeswoman for Argos said: “Every effort was made to contact the customer prior to her delivery and our team did attempt delivery at her home yesterday morning but were unable to gain access.

“We are in touch with the customer over a new delivery date.”
