The Chronicle & Echo archives often help us to remember days gone by - and this time we’ve taken a look back at Cinderellas Rockerfella’s former glory days in the 1980s when everyone smelt strongly of hairspray.
Before Cinderellas Rockerfella's, it was called The Salon Ballroom where many of our Northamptonian parents and grandparents enjoyed a night out on the tiles.
And after Cinderellas, it became the nightclub, Ritzy, before sadly closing down in the late nineties to make way for the Saints’ rugby club ground, Franklins’ Gardens, as we now know it.
Not only was Cinderellas a mecca for disco dancing – it was also a venue where thousands of pounds were raised for charity over the years through fundraising fashion shows and concerts.
After asking Chron readers what they thought was best nightclub in Northampton from a time gone by, many said Cinderellas Rockerfella’s - with Forty’s, Saddlers, Rumours, Legends and Chicagos named as runners up.
