Meet the animals at Northamptonshire rescue and rehoming charity open day this weekend

Animals In Need, a Northamptonshire charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming hundreds of animals annually, is set to welcome visitors to its Pine Tree Farm sanctuary in Little Irchester, near Wellingborough, on Sunday, September 13.

The open day will run from 11am until 3pm.

Sanctuary manager Annie Marriott said the event would offer "a lovely day out for all the family, with plenty to see, do, eat and enjoy." She encouraged people to come and meet some of the charity’s rescued animals, enjoy tasty food, and explore a variety of stalls.

Children attending will find plenty of entertainment including face painting by Aims from Giggle and Glow Artistry, a bouncy castle, and games such as guess how many sweets are in the jar, a colouring competition, guess the name of the giant bear, and hook-a-duck.

Food options will include a barbecue alongside sweet treats from Shelly’s Free From Kitchen, Shelly Bakes, and Jeavons Sweets. Visitors can also try their luck with a raffle, tombola, bottle tombola, and a guess-the-weight-of-the-cake contest. Merchandise and bric-a-brac will be available to browse.

Annie expressed her excitement about the day and the support it brings for the charity's work. She highlighted several stalls joining the event, including Camp Beagle, SquirrelScribbles, Keyrings by Betty, Lumo Jewellery, Ace Comfort Creations, and Lush MK.

"It promises to be a brilliant day, and as always, every bit of support helps us continue caring for the animals who need us most. We can’t wait to see you there," Annie added.
