Meet the 17-year-old from Northampton who took top spot to become British 125cc motocross champion
Meet the 17-year-old from Northampton, who impressively took the top spot to become the British 125cc motocross champion at the start of last month.
Drew Stock started riding bikes from the age of three and began with a PW50 petrol bike, which is described as a legendary 49cc mini dirt bike designed to be the first motorbike for children.
Drew told the Chronicle & Echo that the youngest you can race is six years old and he competed in his first on his sixth birthday. He remained a normal club rider until he was 11 years old in 2020, which is when he started going up the ranks.
It was on August 9 when Drew was named the British 125cc motocross champion, which followed his success when he raced in Sweden last year and won a paid-for trip to America as his prize. He placed third during his time in the US.

The 17-year-old was thrilled to win the British championship as he has been in the 125cc class for the past three years and now has the confidence to progress to 250cc, which is his next step.
Drew is well-supported by a number of Northampton-based businesses who sponsor him, including The Butchers Block, Wrefords Transport and ATEX Premier Cleaning.
With a motorhome that always needs work with the mileage that Drew and his family do to get him to and from motocross races, Wrefords Transport help them keep on top of the maintenance.
Drew’s dream is to be a world champion and although he says there is a small chance anyone makes it, he hopes to progress through the 250cc British and European championship classes as he embarks on this new chapter following his win.
