Man in hospital with 'potentially life-changing injuries' following serious crash on A5 in Northamptonshire

A man remains in hospital with severe injuries after crashing into a tree on the A5 in Northamptonshire over the weekend.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses following the serious road traffic collision on the northbound carriageway of the A5, near to the junction of Ashby St Ledgers.

At about midday on Saturday (October 3), a silver Vauxhall Insignia was travelling along the A5 when for unknown reasons, it left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

As a result of the collision, the 37-year-old male driver was taken to University Hospital Coventry, with potentially life-changing injuries, a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage of the incident.
