The south entrance is accessible off of NGH's main car park and is the first port of call for many visitors and patients.
Stuart Finn, NGH's director of estates and facilities, said: “We are really excited to be building a new entrance to the hospital site to provide a better experience for our staff, patients and visitors. This new space will provide us with more space than our existing entrance and means that we can also offer a new range of retail outlets for people to enjoy.
“These plans have been in progress for a long time so it’s incredibly exciting to see the building work starting on site to be able to share the plans with our community”.
