The opening event brought together volunteers, supporters, representatives from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Northamptonshire Police, civic leaders and members of the public to celebrate the achievement.
The new base in Lamport will provide improved facilities for training, operational response, equipment storage, volunteer welfare and multi-agency collaboration.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Search and Rescue said the new facility would strengthen the organisation’s ability to support emergency incidents and improve community safety across the region.
The spokesperson said: “We are incredibly proud to officially open our new base and would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this journey.
“This facility represents not only a major investment in our operational capability, but also the strength of the community spirit that underpins everything we do.
“We are especially grateful to the public for their continued encouragement and support, and to all those who attended the opening ceremony to help mark this important occasion.”
The organisation also formally thanked the individuals, organisations, contractors, donors and volunteers who helped make the development of the base possible.
The spokesperson added: “Northamptonshire Search and Rescue remains committed to protecting and assisting vulnerable and missing people, while continuing to support the emergency services across the county whenever needed.”
