9. The Heart & Soul Candle Co. – March 2024
The Heart & Soul Candle Co. was established by Tanya Russo from her home in Weston Favell, before opening at Whilton Locks Garden Village on March 16. The business sells candles, skincare and perfume ranges. After some disappointing candle purchases, Tanya began experimenting and making her own in the autumn of 2018. It was not until March 2021 when Tanya took the plunge to launch her website and attend markets, and she says the business was “created from the need for a moment of calm amongst the chaos”. 10. Nourished Meal Prep Cafe – March 2024
Healthy meal preparation business Nourished opened its first cafe in Gold Street Mews, in collaboration with the Coconut Paradise Community Cafe. The two businesses took over the former Coconut Grove, which served Caribbean food to the community for many years, and opened to the public on April 3. Nourished’s healthy meals are now available at the heart of the town centre, as well as a brand new brunch menu exclusive to the cafe. Business owners Ash and Chanel are pictured. 11. Munchbox – April 2024
Munchbox was opened by long-standing business partners David Akinbowane and Moinul Islam on April 12, in Grove Road in the Mounts area. The pair began by attending well-renowned festivals in food vans, including Reading and Leeds, and opened their first branch in Irthlingborough two months ago. American smash burgers and chicken wings are offered by the takeaway, with homemade flavours that combine African and Bengali spices to represent the owners’ heritages. Photo: Munchbox
