Northampton is full of talented people who have received county-wide and regional recognition for their hard work.
From a decorated chippy that has won awards in five different years since it was taken over in 2014, to a long-standing family food producer of more than four decades, these businesses deserve to be celebrated.
Without the community’s support, it will not be possible to see these businesses continue to thrive and make a positive name for themselves and the town.
Take a look at 10 of the town’s award-winning businesses, which we should all show our support to.

9. The Roaming Artisan
The Roaming Artisan is a pop-up business committed to connecting the community to local produce. Rick Sharpe founded The Roaming Artisan in May 2021, after living in a rural village made him realise the impact that a lack of facilities has on residents. He has since toured the county with the pop-up shop and was named local food hero at last year’s Weetabix Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards. Photo: The Roaming Artisan

10. Scruffy Dog Silver
This silver jewellery business was founded by Steph Davies in 2011. Each unique piece is crafted and finished by hand, and all designs are Steph’s own. As she picks up materials from different places and often stumbles across treasure in the most unlikely, much of Steph’s work are one-offs. Scruffy Dog Silver was proud to be named the county’s best jeweller at last year’s Northants Life Awards. Photo: Scruffy Dog Silver
