A homemade charity drive to deliver food to vulnerable households in Northampton amid the pandemic is asking for help.

Last year, food campaigner Mitchell Miles, from Lings, distributed essential items to dozens of homes in the town after launching his own donation drive off his own back.

Now, Mitchell is revamping his appeal with the support of Northampton organisations who have agreed to act as drop-off points for donations.

Through his Facebook page, he is sharing a message that "we are all in this together" in a bid to help struggling households in Covid-19 crisis.

Mitchell said: "There are so many of us now really struggling to buy food because of poverty, not being able to get out during Covid, or away from families, elderly and vulnerable. Even families are struggling to keep food on the table for their children.

"We all need to get together and help each other."

Mitchell aims to use the food and essential items to create a helpline that residents can call anonymously and request a delivery when they need it most, including schools.
