The bus lane returned to the front page again...and not for the last time. The council, under pressure from us and other campaigners, vowed to rethink the controversial bus lane and asked the public to give their views in a public consultation exercise. It led to a concerted response from the police and the venues themselves to highlight the issue and raise awareness.

Market trader Fitzy is no stranger to making headline news in the Chron and this week he was hitting out at plans to revamp the Market Square...and relocate traders for up to two years while work was being carried out. His comments hit home as he later had successful meetings with the council and agreed a way forward.
