Harry Dunn to 'attend' one last Cobblers match with plans for a cardboard cutout of killed Northamptonshire teenager

Harry Dunn will be among the cardboard cutout fans in the stands for Northampton Town FC's play-off semi-final with his father and brother.

The south Northamptonshire teenager was killed in a crash with an American woman driving on the wrong side of the road, who then fled the country claiming diplomatic immunity.

The Cobbler in the Crowd initiative means Harry will be among the thousands of cardboard cutouts at the PTS Academy Stadium for the Cheltenham Town match on June 18.

Harry's dad, Tim Dunn, said: "I've been a Cobblers fan for most of my lift, as was Harry and my son Miles, so we thought it would be great for all three of us to be there.

"It was a 'no brainer' to get him in there for one last game and it's a nice feeling that we would all be there together."

Harry, 19, died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with Anne Sacoolas' car, which she has admitted was on the wrong side of the road, near Croughton on August 27, 2019.

The American driver initially co-operated with police but then told officers she had diplomatic immunity before flying back to the United States a few weeks later.

Harry's family have led an international campaign to get Sacoolas to face justice, with her being charged with causing death by dangerous driving and the US Government refusing to extradite her.

Tim said they hope to have a Justice4Harry banner in the stands for the League Two play-off semi-final first leg, which will be televised on Sky Sports, as well as a tribute from the players.

A club spokesperson said: “Harry was a huge Cobblers fan and a popular figure amongst fellow supporters and as a club we have supported the family in a number of ways since the tragic events of last August.

We are delighted that Harry’s image will be seen at the play off game next week and we send our continued best wishes to the Dunn family.”

Northampton Town has shown its support for the family's campaign before with banners, green ribbons and more last year.

The Cobbler in the Crowd scheme allows supporters to have their face in the stand for the crunch match for £25 each - the deadline to enter is 5pm on June 14.
