Northampton's Grosvenor Centre is offering a prize to whoever comes up with a name for the badger that fell through Superdrug's roof this week. The bizarre story of how a badger fell through the ceiling at the shopping centre and landed behind Superdrug's counter has spread nationally since the Chronicle & Echo first reported on it yesterday (February 11).During the hapless break-in on Sunday morning (February 9), the critter reportedly "made a mess" of the perfume selection before scampering under a shelving unit, where it had to be captured by the Northamptonshire Badger Group.
Now, the Grosvenor Centre has declared the badger a "national hero" and is running a competition to name the furry adventurer.

In a post today, the centre said: "I’m sure you’ve all heard the (very) bizarre news that a badger managed to find its way into the shopping centre a couple of days ago.
"We’re delighted to let you know our national hero has been returned safely into the wild and was ok.
"We’re not going to be forgetting him any time soon! What do you think we should name our new short-legged friend? The chosen winner will receive a £20 Superdrug voucher!"
A video was shared by the Northamptonshire Badger Group on Tuesday showing the badger being safely released into the wild in perfect health.
