Former Citizens Advice Bureau building in Northampton to become church

A building formerly belonging to Citizens Advice Bureau in Northampton is set to become a church, if planning chiefs give proposals the green light.

The building has been empty for almost five years following the teams move to Mercers Row and the one-stop-shop at the Guildhall.

The Redeem Christian Church (RCCG) of God Solutuion Assembly has now submitted a planning application to convert the ex-legal offices into a place of worship.

Planners have told church leaders to sound proof the walls and doors before their services - which will be mostly in the mornings and weekends at 9am - are held.

The church has will be used to host its various departments including the choir, ushering, technical, intercessory, evangelism, Sunday school, the children department

In documents submitted to the Guildhall papers say their sister church, at 19 Abington Street, 'has a solid track record in dealing with noise levels, parking, and sustainable transport issues'.

The proposed site, which can be commented on until November 4, has a secure private car park, which will provide up to 15 parking spaces.
