Firefighters were called to aid last night after a kitten, and then a teenager, got stuck on top of a home in Northampton.

Crews from the Mounts, Mereway and an aerial application from Corby were called to the Brookside Meadows property at around 8pm last night (April 22).

The ladder was used to reach the 14-year-old boy and the kitten who were both stuck at the top of the two storey home.

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The boy had gone up to try and rescue the kitten.

“The crews then rescued them both and they are now fine.”

The spokeswoman added that the service does deal with animal rescue, so if members of the public are worried about a stuck animal they can call the service.
