Fire investigation experts are looking into the cause of a blaze at a house in Northampton on Friday night.

Three crews were called out just before 10pm for the fire, which was quickly brought under control.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was reported at 9.53pm and damaged was caused to the staircase and the second floor of the terraced house in Kingsley Gardens.

No-one had to be evacuated as the occupants were not in the house when the fire service arrived and there were no reports of any injuries.

Crews remained on scene until just before midnight. Crews attended from The Mounts, Moulton & Guilsborough.
