Northamptonshire joined in a minute's silence at 3pm today (Saturday) as The Queen and members of the Royal Family gathered for the funeral of Prince Philip.
The monarch said goodbye to her beloved husband of 73 years sitting alone in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle due to coronavirus restrictions.
Dressed in a face mask and in sombre black, the Queen's arrival was the first time she has been officially seen in public since the Duke of Edinburgh died eight days ago, at the age of 99.
A small group of Philip's close family and friends attended the televised funeral service in at Windsor Castle, which began with a national minute's silence.
Philip's coffin was carried on a custom-built Land Rover Defender hearse designed by the duke.
It was followed for part of its final journey by the Queen, who travelled in a Bentley with Lady Susan Hussey, with her trusted lady-in-waiting — with both wearing facemasks.
Their children, Princess Anne, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward all walked behind the coffin, alongwith the Duke's grandsons Princes William and Harry, Peter Phillips joined a ceremonial procession.
