5. Lewis Buckland
Buckland denied intentionally strangling former girlfriend but changed his plea as his trial was due to start at Northampton Crown Court. He also admitted an actual bodily harm relating to the same incident plus a count of driving dangerously, without insurance and while disqualified. The 25-year-old, of Newark Drive, Corby — whose criminal record includes a conviction for biting a police officer and an assault on a previous partner — was sentenced to two years, two months and banned from driving for 12 months. 6. Klodi Sulka
The 38-year-old was sentenced to 12 months after being found hiding in the loft of a suspected cannabis factory and pleading guilty to the production of a Class B drug.Sulka was arrested when police raided a house in Dresden Close on Corby’s Danesholme estate and discovered 164 cannabis plants worth up to £57,500. 7. Kieron Long
The Northampton window cleaner was jailed for two years, four months for stealing designer goods from a home on his round in February 2023. Police found the property in Long’s van parked nearby. 8. Kurt Starnes
Starnes was sentenced to 37 months after Northampton Crown Court heard he told his pregnant partner that he’d shoot her in the stomach so that she and her unborn baby would die.The 38-year-old also threatened the woman with a knife during a five-month campaign of control.Starnes, formerly of both Kettering and Northampton, was arrested in February and remanded in custody but contacted his victim from prison via his grandmother to try and get her to drop the allegations.
