Details of five-metre-long Reggie the Rex’s one-day Northampton tour announced

A massive 14-foot dinosaur that entertained children in a Northamptonshire village towards the start of lockdown is now heading out on tour.

Reggie the Rex, also known as Darren Smith, put a vote out to the public to see where they wanted the giant dinosaur to visit.The results are now in and Darren has announced that the one-day, mini tour will take place this Saturday (August 8).

After receiving 600 votes, Darren narrowed the locations down to the most popular five, has hired a van to transport the heavy costume and has enlisted Just Party to provide more entertainment for children.

Reggie will be joined by Spider-Man, Batman, Elsa, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol and more popular characters.

Here is Reggie and friends’ schedule for Saturday:

- Kingsthorpe Rec at 10am

- Long Buckby Rugby Club at 11.30am

- Harpole Playing Fields at 1pm

- Upton Country Park at 2.30pm

- Abington Park at 4.00pm

The dinosaur that can blink and roar, will roam around the locations waving at children while abiding by social distancing guidelines.
