The ‘Wedding with Thanks’ giveaway will grant one couple, made up of at least one key worker, the opportunity to say ‘I do’ in the Bouverie Suite at the historic home.

Many other elements of the big day will also be included in the package and will be provided by local businesses.

Richard Clinton, chief executive at Delapré Abbey, said: “Romance is most certainly alive here in Northamptonshire.

“We have had scores of wedding enquiries in the last two months from couples looking beyond COVID-19 who are wanting to start planning and booking.

“Many couples have had to put their weddings on hold, so this is our way of giving back and saying thank you to those who have worked tirelessly to make an extraordinary difference during these challenging times.”

Richard added: "At Delapré Abbey we are passionate about supporting and working closely with the local community – and encourage friends and families to enjoy the grounds, share our facilities, join us and be part of our future.

“We are not just a historic home – the Abbey is here to add wellbeing, culture, and heritage to everyone’s lives. And of course, weddings.”

The couple must live in Northamptonshire and at least one must be a key or essential worker.

To nominate yourself, or someone you know, visit Delapré Abbey’s website and tell them why you the couple deserves the wedding.
