"It absolutely reeks and it's not very safe. People have to walk through wee and poo. It's where the sales offices are."

A spokesman for Pure Leisure, which runs Billing Aquadrome, said the issue involves a sewage containment system, and Anglian Water teams are now on site.

He said: "It's contained to 'show ground number one', where the caravan holiday homes are for sale.

"It's not affected any of the wider areas where people own caravans and holiday caravans.

"I know the guys at Billing Aquadrome are working with Anglian Water to have that resolved as quickly as possible."

An Anglian Water spokeswoman added: “Following reports of sewer flooding at Billing Aquadrome, our teams are now on site.

"The issue was caused by a small electrical fault on our pumping station, which is now being rectified.

"We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
