Childhood friends team up their Northampton businesses to offer 100 free meals on Christmas Day
Two Northampton business owners, who are also childhood friends, have teamed up to offer 100 free meals to those less fortunate on Christmas Day.
Amin Miah, who is the general manager of Top Rank Transport, and Saf Choudhury, who owns Moosteak in Wellingborough Road, decided they wanted to give back to the community this Christmas.
The duo have combined their respective businesses and will offer free meals to the homeless and vulnerable members of the community on December 25.
Amin said: “I run a taxi firm and we specialise in SEN school transport.

“The owner of Moosteak is a childhood friend of mine. We went to school together and I’ve known him for a very long time, so we decided to partner up.”
The duo will make 100 free meals, likely to be a chicken and rice dish. A van will then be parked near to Sainsbury’s in Wellingborough Road from 11am until 2pm on Christmas Day.
Amin is working hard behind the scenes to get the word out there about the help on offer, in the hope that it reaches the right people and the meals all go to those most in need.
“It’s our community,” Amin added. “We grew up in this town, we were born and raised in this town.
“We feel for the community. We see it everyday - homelessness, people deprived with no money or food.
“This is just something we can do to give back to the community.”
Anyone in need is welcome to visit the van on Christmas Day, but Amin added that meals will be handed out on a first come, first served basis.
