‘Chef of the year’ offering delivery service around Northampton amid coronavirus pandemic

A private chef who won ‘chef of the year’ for Northamptonshire has launched a delivery service amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Danny Tompkins will cook made-to-order meals for anyone who is self-isolating and cannot get out of the house.

The chef has set up the delivery service with the aim to make sure everyone can still enjoy ‘top class food and drink’.

Danny, who won ‘chef of the year’ at Carlsberg’s 2019/2020 Northamptonshire food and drink awards, said: “These are unprecedented times and it’s an incredibly fast-moving situation.

“There’s a lot of uncertainty out there and businesses, particularly pubs and restaurants, are likely to suffer.

“I wanted to do something that gives people the chance to enjoy good quality food and drink if they have to stay at home for any length of time.

“Everything will be made fresh to order and personally delivered to your home.

“We should all try to keep life as normal as possible for the next few months. Food and drink is good for the soul and at times like this it can give us all a bit of a boost.”

Customers can order dishes including slow roasted shoulder of lamb, garam masala salt cod and pistachio dusted donuts, with starters priced at £5, mains at £10 and desserts £5. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available and wine and beer can also be delivered.

Danny will deliver orders, of a minimum of £15, within a five-mile radius of Harlestone, which includes part of Northampton town centre.
