Charity golf day and gala raise incredible £84,600 to help Northampton children and families

A charity golf day and gala have raised an incredible £84,600 to help vulnerable children and families across Northamptonshire.

The fundraising events were organised by Barratt Homes Northampton in support of its charity partner, KidsAid, which provides specialist therapy and support to children and young people who have experienced trauma and difficult life experiences.

A total of 128 golfers, making up 32 teams, took part in the tournament at Whittlebury Park Golf Course, including employees and sub-contractors from the housebuilder.

The golf day was followed by a charity gala and auction, with prizes including a signed Mike Tyson boxing glove, spa days and opportunities to spend a day with directors and contracts managers.

The £84,600 total included matched funding from the Barratt Redrow Foundation, the housebuilder's charitable arm.

Northampton-based KidsAid supports children and families affected by abuse, family breakdown, illness and bereavement, as well as those experiencing anxiety, depression and other mental health difficulties.

Charlotte Cornish, fundraising manager at KidsAid, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Barratt Homes Northampton for their continued support and for once again going above and beyond to raise such an incredible amount for KidsAid.

“£84,600 is a phenomenal achievement, and we genuinely cannot thank everyone involved enough.

“Their commitment to supporting children, young people and families across our local community has made a huge difference to the work we are able to deliver.

“Every pound raised helps us provide vital, specialist therapy and support to children and families who have experienced trauma and difficult life experiences.”

Barratt Homes Northampton first partnered with KidsAid in 2022 and has since raised more than £300,000 for the charity through its corporate fundraising activities.

Simon Francis, managing director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “We were delighted to once again host this golf day and gala for our employees and sub-contractors to raise funds for KidsAid to help it continue its important work.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, donated, and helped make the day so memorable.

“The generosity shown will have a lasting impact on this charity we support.”
